A Wedding And Preparing For War

Mosenth smiled as he watched his tribe commemorate the marriage of two of it's people, the tribe singing and dancing around the wedding fire, drums and flutes playing. It was always good to see that, despite the fact that there was a war approaching, his people still had time to celebrate.

Mosenth slipped away from the celebration and into the woods, hoping for some time to be alone to become lost in his thoughts and prepare a battle plan for the war.

((OOC Comment: Just so you all know, I envision Mosenth's tribe to be rather like Native Americans, in attitude, dress and culture.))

It was time to unwind. Aurora had a rough day of training and it felt good to take off the burdening armour.

She changed into cloth before passing by her father.

"Lachdanan, I'm going out to the forest. I'll be back soon," she told her guardian. He acknowledged with a subtle nod and she left the fortress.

Although it was time to relax, she still bore the weight of her sword. It rarely left her side.

The night breeze felt good against her skin and the earth was comforting beneath her bare feet. The more she traveled into the forest, the less the light of the cresent moon lit her path. She focused her eyes, and the surroundings lit up instantly.

Aurora was in a curious mood this night and decided to digress from the usual path. The unfamiliar territory was intriguing and the corners of her mouth etched toward the starry sky. Another breeze greeted her face and tickled her nose.

What is that smell? she thought. It is delicious!
Pacing fast now, she made her way toward the source of that aroma. It was getting stronger.

In the distance, drums could be heard and flames could be seen dancing through the dense foliage.

Is there a celebration? she asked herself. She continued - fueled by the strengthening curiosity.

At that moment something moved to her right. She stopped instantly, resting her hand on the familiar handle. Her eyes de-focused and re-focused within fractions of a second.

It's nearly pitch black. Nothing can see me, she convinced herself..

Mosenth lay with his back against a tree, gathering his thoughts. The Tree Spirits had said that the start of the war was fast approaching. They were vague in saying exactly when, speaking in riddles and clues.

Whenever the war was, it fell to the Terabithians loyal to the Royals to help them, and Mosenth would make sure to gather as many as he could.

Footfalls rapidly approached the area, and Mosenth drew an arrow from his quiver and, placing it in his bow, hid behind another tree, this one to the right of the path leading to the village, waiting for whoever it was to approach.

He heard the footsteps stop and swiftly stepped away from the tree, drew his arrow back in his bow and placed it close to the person's neck, letting them know that he wasn't afraid to let go.

"Who goes there?" he asked, firmly but not in a way that was antagonizing. He needed to know if the person was friend or foe before drawing any conclusions.

Suddenly, as silent as a gentle breeze Thanos plummeted to ground below, like a black star in the sunny sky. He crashed into the ground below like a meteor striking the cold earth with an explosion of dust and grime. He rolled over three times before he finally stood and brushed off his tunic. His appearance was something to be shocked at though. His hair was frizzed and messy, his tunic was torn with several wounds revealing warm, fresh blood dripping. There was a cut on his forehead and his lips were split open with blood covering his mouth. He had both daggers drawn and both were notched and damaged like they had been through a thousand battles.

After a cough of blood he announced to Monseth, "I'm changing sides... my master wants me dead."
